Sophomores in the Production Academy’s Engineering Pathway & Haskell STEAM students raced handmade cardboard canoes at Levings Lake! They designed, engineered, & built their boats using only cardboard & duct tape, then competed to see which was the fastest & stayed afloat.

This past semester, Auburn High School Gifted Program alum Sofía Rayón led a university Capstone team in developing AVAP, an app connecting survivors of violent crimes to resources in Alabama. 10 Auburn High School students graduated from EMR training through Superior Ambulance. They completed this during their lunch period. This program builds career pathways, earns real credentials, & helps grow the next generation of emergency responders in our community.

Students in the Health Academy competed in the Medical Terminology Challenge at Rock Valley College on April 17th.
Students from Auburn, East, Guilford, Jefferson, Byron, Belvidere North, Harlem, & Winnebago competed in a quiz bowl style competition, testing their knowledge of various medical vocabulary. They also received a tour of RVC’s Health Sciences building & participated in hands on experiences in different medical fields.

RPS 205 & Tyson teamed up to host the Ultimate Chicken Sandwich Contest, and this week, the winning creations officially hit the school lunch menu! Congratulations again to Connor @ Conklin, Iker @ Flinn, & Jordan @ Auburn! Each winner received a Nintendo Switch & a portrait of their delicious masterpiece. From idea to tray, their sandwiches were a hit across the district!









Auburn High School students spent their Service Academy Day giving back! At Gretta’s Goats in Pecatonica, they earned service hours repurposing bee boxes and fixing a gravel driveway, while learning about bee colony collapse and the importance of protecting pollinators.

More than 2,500 RPS 205 juniors and seniors connected with more than 40 employers at our inaugural Career Fair at the QUAD! Students explored entry-level careers, shared resumes, and discovered opportunities to start working now or after graduation.
